That's according to Skoda. Yep seems very high compared to previous cars by VW/Audi/Skoda. It's a bit hard to decipher but see attached maintenance guides. Change the water pump while you are at it. (it's only about £30). It's false economy not to. If afterwards you find there are issues with the water pump, it may break the cambelt which will be expensive. If the pump doesn't last another 5/6 years then you'll have to pay all that substantial labour cost again.

Start the engine. Press the CAR button to get to the service menu. From there use the bottom left button on the MMI Controller to CAR SYSTEMS. Scroll to and select SERVICE & CHECKS from the CAR SYSTEMS menu. Select SERVICE INTERVALS. Select RESET OIL CHANGE INTERVAL and confirm. Turn off the ignition and restart to confirm reset is completed.
The cambelt change interval is the subject of much debate. If you search the forum you will find several threads. In a nutshell Audi UK says change the belt every 5 years or 140k miles, whichever comes first.
Aug 23, 2017. #6. DSG fluid is every 38,000 miles, so it's due now. Personally I also do it every 38,000 miles or 4 years (whatever comes first), but Audi do not specify a time limit, only mileage. Cambelt is every 5 years or 75,000 miles (whatever comes first), so really it should have been done in 2016, but check your receipts.

A few years ago when I had a mk5 GTI there was a similar 'complaint' on the mk5 forums because the early mk5's had something 120k cam belt intervals which changed to 60k on newer models but Audi's of the same vintage with pretty much exactly the same engine were still on 120k. At least they are being consistent across the VAG range in the UK now.
22 November 2013 at 9:01AM. andrewf75. Just found out that in addition to a £250 4-year service, my Fabia 1.4 TDI is due a cam belt change which adds another £300! Apparently Skoda/VW/Audi have only recently reduced the recommended cam belt change interval to 40,000 miles/4 years from 60,000 miles. But mine has only done 25,000 miles!

I believe that VW have changed change the age / mileage intervals for cam belt replacement at various points in the past. Not sure what the current VW recommended change interval is on a 2013 diesel Polo but it’ll probably be something like the sooner of 80,000 miles or 5 years (it might be 4 years).

Can confirm for 100% that the new 1.2 TSI and 1.4 TSI are ea211 based belt driven units with no change interval. This applies to all power outputs (85, 105, 122 and 140) and includes the new leon, golf, a3 and octavia.
